About the event
Why our strengths sometimes get in our way—and how to respond differently when it matters most.
Join us for a special screening of TEDx speaker Alina Doran’s talk, Animal in the Mirror: How Smart Leaders Can Tame Self-Sabotage, followed by a lively, interactive conversation about understanding ourselves and showing up at our best.
Ever wonder why you sometimes second-guess yourself, react more strongly than you intended, take on too much, or fall into familiar patterns—even when you know better? Or why the very qualities that make you successful can sometimes get in your way?
We all have patterns that influence how we think, react, communicate, and relate to others. The good news? Once we recognize those patterns, we have more choices about what we do next.
Through the TEDx screening and a facilitated, audience-inclusive conversation, we’ll explore why we do what we do, how our strengths can sometimes work against us, and how we can respond with greater awareness and intention.
The conversation will be facilitated by Frank Mesa, an author, former MTA Metro-North senior executive, and a finalist on CBS’s The Amazing Race.
Come curious. Bring your questions. Leave with fresh insights, new perspectives, and practical ideas for showing up at your best—at work, at home, and in the moments that matter.
